We all know that the most important meal of the day is the mantra for breakfast, but we also know that breakfast is always the first meal to get kicked to the curb while we are hustling to get everyone to work and school. Nonetheless, the fact is having breakfast helps set off our metabolism, wakes up the brain, and gets us to go in the morning. And you just need to grab a bite to eat before going out the door. Now, the other mantra we’ve all heard is that we’ve got to eat a meal before we get dessert eating. So we thought, how could we say yes for breakfast as well as dessert? The answer is simple: banana bread brownies.

Ingredients:
1-1/2 c. sugar
1 c. sour cream
1/2 c. butter softened
(2) eggs
1-3/4 (3 or 4) mashed ripe bananas
2 tsp. vanilla extract
2 c. all-purpose flour
1 tsp. baking soda
3/4 tsp. salt
1/2 c. chopped walnuts (optional)
For Brown Butter Frosting:
1/2 c. butter
4 c. powdered sugar
1-1/2 tsp. vanilla extract
3 tbsp. milk
Directions:
Heat oven at about 375 degrees F. Grease and grease 15×10-inch jelly roll pan. For the bars, beat sugar, sour cream, butter, and eggs together in a large bowl until creamy. Blend with bananas and vanilla extract. Add and blend flour, baking soda, salt for a minute. Stir in walnuts.
Spread batter into pan evenly and bake for 20 to 25 minutes, or until brown is golden.
In the meantime, heat butter in a bowl to cool for frosting medium to medium heat. Take a delicate brown and immediately remove the butter from the heat.
Add cinnamon, vanilla, powdered sugar, and milk. Add and whisk until smooth (thicker than a glaze but slim than frosting). Add and place brown butter on warm spatula bars (If the bars are still warm, the frosting will be easier to distribute).
