Ingredients:
½ c butter
⅔ c white sugar
2 large eggs
1 c buttermilk
½ tsp baking soda
1 c cornmeal
1 c all-purpose flour
¼ tsp salt
Directions:
Step 1: Prepare the oven and preheat to 175 degrees C or 375 degrees F.
Step 2: Apply cooking spray in an 8-inch cake pan.
Step 3: Place a large skillet on the stove and turn the heat to medium.
Step 4: Add butter and allow it to melt.
Step 5: Add sugar and stir until well blended.
Step 6: Add eggs right away and beat until well mixed.
Step 7: In a small mixing bowl, add baking soda and buttermilk. Stir until well mixed, then pour it into the pan. Stir until well mixed.
Step 8: Add the flour, cornmeal, and salt. Stir until well mixed.
Step 9: Remove from the heat and transfer the batter into the greased pan, then spread it evenly.
Step 10: Place it inside the preheated oven and bake for about 40 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean after inserting it in the middle.
