The combination of all the flavors in this One-pot Texas Hash is simply amazing! Rice, meat, and spices made this a complete meal! In less than an hour, you and your family are going to enjoy this! Ingredients:
1/2 c uncooked long grain white rice
1 c water
2 tbsp olive oil
1 c diced onion
1/2 tsp dry mustard
1 lb. of ground beef
1 tbsp minced fresh garlic
2 1/2 tsp chili powder
1 c diced green bell pepper
2 tbsp tomato paste
1 14.5 oz. can of diced tomatoes with juice
Grated cheddar or Monterey jack cheese (optional)
1 1/2 tsp Worcestershire sauce
1/4 tsp freshly ground black pepper
2 tsp salt
Directions:
Place a skillet on the stove and turn the heat to medium.
Add olive oil and allow it to become hot.
Add the ground beef into the hot skillet, then cook for a few minutes until crumbly and brown.
Add garlic, chili powder, onion, peppers, salt, pepper, and dry mustard. Saute for a few more minutes until aromatic and soft.
Add tomato paste and rice into the skillet, then stir and cook for about 3 minutes.
Add the canned tomatoes with the juice, Worcestershire sauce, and water. Stir until well blended.
Cover the skillet with the lid and cook everything for about 20 minutes.
Remove the cover, then use a fork to fluff the rice. (Make sure to cook for another 2 minutes if it is still wet.)
Serve and enjoy!
Note:
Sprinkle grated cheese over the rice if you wish.
