Ingredients:
sweetened whipped cream or whipped topping
2 tablespoons butter
1 tablespoon vanilla extract
2 cups milk chocolate chips (or dark chocolate if you prefer)
1/2 teaspoon salt
4 Egg yolks
3 cups milk
2/3 cup sugar
1/3 cup cornstarch
1 deep dish pie shell or use a 10″ pie pan
Directions:
Refer to the directions provided on the package of the pie shell on how to prepare it.
Place it inside the oven and bake until done. Remove and allow it to cool.
Place a 2-quart saucepan on the stove and turn the heat to medium.
Add cornstarch, salt, and sugar. Stir until well mixed.
Add milk and egg yolks into a container with a pouring spout. Stir until well mixed.
Pour the milk mixture into the sugar mixture and stir until well blended.
Allow the mixture to boil, then remove from the heat. Stir until well mixed.
Add vanilla and butter, then stir until well mixed.
Add 1 3/4-cups of chocolate chips and stir until melted completely.
Transfer the mixture into the prepared pie shell and spread it evenly.
Wrap it with plastic wrap, then place it inside the fridge to chill for a couple of hours.
Remove from the fridge and spread the rest of the whipped cream on top, then sprinkle the rest of the chocolate chips as well.
Serve and enjoy!
