Ingredients:
1 pkg red velvet cake mix (regular size)
2-1/2 to 3 c all-purpose flour
1 package (1/4 oz) active dry yeast
1-1/4 c warm water (120° to 130°)
1/2 c packed brown sugar
1 tsp ground cinnamon
1/4 c butter, melted
ICING:
2 c confectioners’ sugar
2 tbsp butter, softened
1 tsp vanilla extract
3 to 5 tbsp 2% milk
Directions:
Step 1: In a large mixing bowl, add the yeast and 1 cup of flour. Whisk until well mixed.
Step 2: Add water and beat for about 2 minutes at a medium speed.
Step 3: Add the rest of the flour and stir until a soft dough forms.
Step 4: Sprinkle flour on a flat surface and lay the dough on it. Knead for about 8 times.
Step 5: Apply cooking oil into a mixing bowl, then transfer the dough into it.
Step 6: Cover the bowl with a towel and allow it to rise for 2 hours.
Step 7: In another mixing bowl, add the cinnamon and brown sugar. Stir until well combined.
Step 8: Transfer the dough onto a flat surface sprinkled with flour, then roll it into about 18×10-inch rectangular shape.
Step 9: Brush the top and sides with melted butter, then sprinkle the sugar mixture as well.
Step 10: Roll the dough and seal the seam by pinching it.
Step 11: Slice it into 12 crosswise pieces.
Step 12: Apply cooking spray in a 13×9-inch baking pan.
Step 13: Arrange the pieces onto the prepared baking pan.
Step 14: Cover the pan with a towel and allow it to rise again for another 1 hour.
Step 15: Prepare the oven and preheat to 175 degrees C or 350 degrees F.
Step 16: Place it inside the preheated oven and bake for about 20 minutes or until brown.
Step 17: Meanwhile, add the butter, confectioners’ sugar, milk, and vanilla in a small mixing bowl. Beat until well combined.
Step 18: Drizzle over the rolls.
