Ingredients:
2 c all-purpose flour
1 c butter, softened
½ c confectioners’ sugar
1 tsp vanilla extract
1 (12 oz) package miniature chocolate chips, divided
1 tbsp vegetable shortening
Directions:
Step 1: Prepare the oven and preheat to 175 degrees C.
Step 2: In a mixing bowl, add the butter, flour, and vanilla to a mixing bowl. Beat until well combined.
Step 3: Add the rest of the chocolate chips into the bowl with the flour mixture. Just set aside about 1/4 cup for later use. Stir until well mixed.
Step 4: Create 24 small logs by rolling the dough, then arrange them onto a baking sheet.
Step 5: Place the baking sheet inside the preheated oven and bake the cookies for 20 minutes or until they turn golden brown.
Step 6: Remove from the heat and allow the cookies to cool at room temperature.
Step 7: Place a saucepan on the stove and turn the heat to medium-low. Add the shortening and allow it to melt.
Step 8: Add the reserved 1/4 cup of chocolate chips. Stir until melted completely and well blended.
Step 9: Dip each cookie into the mixture, the put them back onto the baking sheet.
Step 10: Place the cookies inside the fridge to chill.
Step 11: Serve and enjoy!
