Ingredients:
1 tablespoon olive oil
2 carrots, peeled and diced
1 brown onion, diced
150g macaroni
500g beef mince
1 c frozen peas
1/4 c tomato sauce
40g sachet French onion soup mix
1 c grated tasty cheese
Directions:
Prepare the oven and preheat to 356 degrees F or 180 degrees C.
Apply cooking spray in a heat-proof baking dish.
Place a large pot with salted water on the stove and turn the heat to high. Allow the water to boil.
Add the macaroni and cook until firm to bite. Drain and rinse with cold water to stop the cooking process.
Place a large frying pan on the stove and turn the heat to medium.
Add oil and allow it to become hot.
Add the onion and sauté until translucent.
Add the beef mince, then cook until crumbly and brown.
Add the French onion soup, carrots, and 2 cups of water. Stir until well mixed. Allow the mixture to boil.
Turn the heat down to low and simmer for about 15 minutes.
Add the peas, tomato sauce, and cooked macaroni. Stir everything until well combined.
Empty the pan into the prepared baking dish and spread it evenly.
Sprinkle the cheese on top.
Place it inside the preheated oven and bake for about 15 minutes or until the cheese is melted and turns golden brown.
Remove from the oven and let it rest for a few minutes at room temperature.
Serve warm and enjoy!
Notes:
Be mindful of the number of seasonings that you will add. The dish may get very salty.
