Oh, my! This was my first time cooking this very easy carbonara recipe, and I am so glad that I gave it a try because I would never have tasted perfection! Ingredients:
100g/3.5 ounces pancetta finely chopped
80g/ ½ c Parmesan cheese
4 Eggs large
1 pound spaghetti
2 garlic cloves peeled and crushed
1 tablespoon butter optional
salt
pepper
Directions:
Step 1: Refer to the directions provided on the package of the spaghetti on how to cook it.
Step 2: Meanwhile, place a large pan on the stove and turn the heat to medium.
Step 3: Add the pancetta or bacon and cook until crispy and brown.
Step 4: Add 1 tablespoon of butter and 1 garlic clove. Cook for about a minute, then remove the garlic.
Step 5: In a small mixing bowl, add 3 egg yolks, grated Parmesan cheese, and 1 egg. Beat until well mixed.
Step 6: Drain the pasta and set aside 1/2 cup of water.
Step 7: Transfer the pasta into the pan with the pancetta together with the reserved water. Toss until well mixed, then remove from the heat.
Step 8: Add the egg mixture and toss until well blended.
Step 9: Add salt and pepper if necessary.
Step 10: Serve and enjoy!
