The slow cooker cooks this perfect garlic roasted chicken for a quick, almost hand-free meal. A small chicken is better. Serve the chicken in sandwiches, salads, casseroles, or soups as the main dish with the vegetables or use a cooked chicken meal.
Serves: 6 | Prep: 5 Mins | Cook:8 Hours | Method: Slow Cooker Crock Pot
Ingredients
5 lb whole chicken
salt and pepper
Five clove garlic; mashed smooth
paprika
1/4 lb butter
1/2 c canned chicken broth
Directions
Wash the chicken, use cold water. Dry it using a paper kitchen towel
Remove any excess fat and discord in the chicken
Gather the other ingredients, peel, and chop the garlic into tiny bits. Press the garlic to paste. You can use a garlic press for a better result. You can use a knife if you don’t have one.
Layer part of the garlic in the cavity and spread the other half outside of the chicken. Sprinkle with paprika, salt & pepper, inside and out of the chicken.
Place the chicken in the pot and place a few pieces of butter on the chicken breast; pour the broth around the pot and the other butter around the broth.
Cook it for 6-8 hours, depending on how hot your crockpot. Important reminder, do not open the cover of your crockpot while cooking the chicken.
When cooked, remove it from the crockpot, put it in a plate then drizzle it with its sauce. Serve.
