I have listed all the ingredients and directions so all you need to do is to follow them step by step and you are good to go! The next time you make cupcakes, try adding this frosting. Oh, man, I am sure that everyone is going to love them! Just the other day, it was my son’s birthday, I made these heavenly cupcakes topped with this amazing frosting. Our guests immediately asked me for the recipe. Yeah, that’s how good this Chocolate Buttercream Frosting is!
Ingredients:
1 c salted butter1 (at room temperature)
3 ½-4 c powdered sugar2
1/2 c unsweetened cocoa powder
1 tsp vanilla extract
2-3 tbsp whole milk, half-and-half, or cream
Directions:
Step 1: Beat the butter for 3 minutes until creamy.
Step 2: Add the cocoa powder, 3 1/2 cups of powdered sugar, 2 tablespoons of milk, and vanilla. Beat until well mixed.
Step 3: Add 1 more tablespoon of milk if the frosting becomes too dry and 2 tablespoons of sugar if gets too wet.
Step 4: Enjoy!
Notes:
Feel free to use unsalted butter for this recipe. Just add a few pinches of salt.
Make sure to let the butter sit at room temperature before beating.
Sift together the cocoa powder and powdered sugar if they are too lumpy.
Feel free to use milk instead of heavy cream.
