Hello there, friends! I hope you are all doing well. This recipe I am sharing with you today has always been a part of my life since grade school. My Grams used to bake these Tea Cakes all the time! I have loved it since to this day! I am so grateful to my Grams for teaching this recipe to me because now, I get to share it with you as well! I have listed all the things you will be needing so just follow them for they will guide you to perfection! Ingredients:
1 c butter
1 ¾ c white sugar
2 Eggs
3 c all-purpose flour
½ tsp baking soda
½ tsp salt
¼ tsp ground nutmeg
1 tsp vanilla extract
Directions:
Add butter and sugar into a mixing bowl. Beat until creamy.
Add the eggs gradually and beat every addition until well mixed.
Add the vanilla extract and stir until well blended.
In another mixing bowl, add baking soda, flour, nutmeg, and salt. Whisk until well combined.
Transfer the flour mixture into the bowl with the butter mixture. Stir until well combined.
Sprinkle flour on a flat surface, then place the dough on it. Knead until the texture becomes smooth.
Cover the dough, then place it inside the fridge until firm.
Prepare the oven and preheat to 165 degrees C or 325 degrees F.
Sprinkle flour on a flat surface, then place the dough on it.
Roll and slice it into 1/4-inch thick cuts.
Arrange them onto cookie sheets. Make sure to leave a space between each dough.
Place them inside the preheated oven and bake for about 10 minutes or until done.
Remove from the oven and allow the cookies to cool completely at room temperature.
Serve and enjoy!
