Ingredients:
¼ c apple cider vinegar
¾ c water
2 tbsp brown sugar
4 lbs. pork shoulder
2 tbsp paprika (try smoked paprika for more of that smoked flavor)
1 tsp onion powder
1 tsp kosher salt
1 tsp pepper
1 tsp garlic powder
1 tsp cayenne pepper
Directions:
In a mixing bowl, add all dry ingredients and whisk until well incorporated.
Sprinkle the mixed seasonings all over the pork, then rub it until well coated.
Pour water and vinegar into a slow cooker.
Place the seasoned pork into the prepared slow cooker.
Cover and seal the slow cooker, then cook the pork for 8 hours on a low setting.
Remove the pork from the slow cooker, then use two forks to shred it into small pieces. Discard any large portions of fat.
Put the shredded pork back into the slow cooker and stir until well coated with the delicious sauce.
Serve and enjoy!
Notes:
Sprinkle a bit of the seasoning over the shredded pork before serving to give it a spicy taste!
You can broil the shredded meat for a few minutes for a crispy texture.
You can use a potato masher, electric mixer, or shredded claws to shred the meat.
One thing you should know is that the meat needs to be very tender to shred easily.
