These cheeseburger meatballs in a blanket are a total game-changer, and the freaking good big mac-type sauce is to die for! Try this very soon, I am pretty sure you’ll love it every bit!
Ingredients
Cheeseburgers:
1 Egg
2 cans (8 ounces each) Pillsbury™ refrigerated crescent dough sheet
1 tbsp sesame seed
40 frozen cooked homestyle meatballs, thawed (1/2 ounce each)
10 slices American cheese, each cut into quarters
1 tbsp water
Sauce:
3 tbsp ketchup
3/4 c. mayonnaise
1 tsp mustard
1 tbsp plus 1 tsp dill pickle relish
How to make Cheeseburger Meatballs in a Blanket
Step 1: Prepare the oven. Preheat it to 375 degrees F. Using cooking parchment paper, line an 18×13-inch rimmed pan and grease with cooking spray.
Step 2: After unrolling the dough, press each sheet into a 15 x 7-inch rectangle. Into 20 (3 x 1 1/2-inch_ rectangles, cut each triangle. Then, cut into 5 x 4 rows. In the centre of each dough triangle, put 1 cheese rectangle. On top, place the frozen meatballs and wrap the dough around the meatball. Make sure to leave two sides open.
Step 3: On a cookie sheet in 2 concentric circles around a 6-inch circle on parchment paper, place the wrapped meatballs, open sides touching with 17 meatballs in the inner circle and 23 in the outer circle.
Step 4: Whisk the egg with water in a small bowl. Evenly brush this on the dough and sprinkle it with sesame seeds. Place in the preheated oven and bake for about 25 to 28 minutes or until the dough is completely baked and golden brown. Remove from the oven when done and allow the meatballs to stand for about 10 minutes.
Step 5: In the meantime, combine the mayonnaise, ketchup, 1 tbsp pickle relish, and mustard in a small bowl. Then, shift this to a small serving bowl and top with the rest of the 1 tsp relish in the centre.
Step 6: To loosen the cheeseburger ring, run a spatula underneath it. Onto a serving platter, gently ease the ring using the same spatula. In the centre of the ring, place the bowl. Serve and enjoy!
